Description
The Royer AxeMount is a dual microphone clip that holds an R-121 ribbon mic right beside a 57-style dynamic mic, lined up in phase on a single stand. Engineers have paired these two mics on electric guitar cabinets for years, and the AxeMount turns that setup into one clip: no second stand, no second clip and no time spent getting the two mics in phase. Moving both mics to another cabinet is as quick as moving one stand.
Phase Alignment Built In
An arrow on the clip marks the in-phase position for a 57-style dynamic. Slide the dynamic mic in and line the arrow up with the seam on its body. As a starting point, Royer suggests aiming the dynamic where the speaker's dome meets the paper cone, with the R-121 sitting more over the dome, then blending the two to taste.
Designed with SLR, Made in Canada
Royer developed the AxeMount with SLR of Windsor, Ontario, and SLR builds it in Canada. Besides the R-121, it also holds Royer's R-122 MKII and R-122V ribbon mics.
