Description
The Royer RSM-SS251 Sling-Shock is a suspension shock mount for classic large microphones about 2 inches (50 mm) in diameter, including the Telefunken ELAM 251, Neumann U-67 and Neumann U-87. Mounts for these mics often fail with stretched, sagging elastic, loose fits that let the mic fall, and rubber parts that break down over time. The RSM-SS251 holds the mic on non-resonant nylon cord and damped springs, with no rubber or elastic parts at all.
Protecting a Classic Microphone
A felt lining in the chamber gives a snug fit that protects the finish of a valuable microphone. The suspension isolates the mic from shocks, vibration and stand rumble and has no self-resonance on loud sources, while still letting you position the mic freely. A built-in cable clip keeps the mic cable from carrying vibration into the microphone.
Features
- Non-resonant nylon cord and damped steel spring suspension (patented)
- No rubber parts or elastic cords to degrade or stretch
- Isolation from vibration, shock and rumble
- No self-resonance on high-SPL sources
- Felt-lined chamber holds the mic securely without scratches
- Built-in microphone cable clip
- Flexible for easy microphone positioning
