Description
The Roland VT-4 is a dedicated vocal effects processor that transforms the human voice through real-time pitch shifting, formant control, vocoding, harmonizing, and hard-tuning. With dedicated faders for pitch and formant, a central Auto-Pitch knob, and five effect categories accessible via one-touch buttons, the VT-4 delivers everything from subtle vocal enhancement to radical character transformation for singers, DJs, streamers, and content creators.
Voice Effects & MIDI Control
The VT-4 puts smooth, artifact-free pitch and formant control on dedicated faders, letting you shift your vocal character dramatically in real time. Change your persona from deep and commanding to bright and small, or anywhere in between, with continuous physical control. Five effect categories, each with four variations, cover a wide range of vocal processing: Robot provides octave shifts and synthetic tones, Megaphone delivers lo-fi and modulated textures, Vocoder offers classic talk box and advanced vocoding modes, Harmony generates multi-part vocal arrangements, and Reverb/Delay adds spatial depth with echo and dub effects.
Connecting a MIDI keyboard unlocks real-time harmonic control, letting you play chord voicings that drive the harmonizer, tune Auto-Pitch to specific notes, or perform expressive vocoder leads with your voice as the modulator. Eight scene memories store complete effect configurations for instant recall during performance.
