Description
The Roland TR-06 is a detailed replica of the classic TR-606 Drumatix in the Roland Boutique format. It recreates the distinctive midrange kicks, popping toms, and sizzling hi-hats of the original 1981 drum machine through circuit modeling, while adding expanded sound-shaping controls, onboard effects, an advanced step sequencer, and five trigger outputs for modular integration.
Circuit Modeling & Modular I/O
The TR-06 goes beyond simple recreation. Each of the seven instruments gains per-instrument tuning, decay, and pan control. An internal gain stage pushes the circuit models into warm overdrive or aggressive distortion. The onboard compressor adds punch, while the tempo delay creates depth from subtle repeats to controlled chaos. Two complete effects engines provide six delay types (Delay, Pan Delay, Tape-Echo, Reverb, Flanger, Side Band Filter) and four drive types (Saturator, Bit Crusher, Distortion, LPF/HPF).
The step sequencer retains the straightforward programming flow of the original while adding adjustable sub-steps for ratcheted rolls, step-loop for instant pattern slicing, and per-step probability for evolving patterns. Five 3.5mm trigger outputs (AC, BD, SD, LT, HT) and one trigger input make the TR-06 a capable modular sequencer. Internal sounds can be layered with externally triggered modules for massive composite rhythms.
