Description
The Roland SH-01A is a meticulous reproduction of the iconic SH-101, one of the most beloved monophonic synthesizers in electronic music history. Built with Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology, the SH-01A recreates the original's raw oscillator, biting filter, and punchy envelope right down to the fine details and quirks that made the SH-101 a go-to instrument for acid basslines, squelchy leads, and bubbly sequences. The SH-01A expands on the original with four-voice polyphony and 64 storable sequence patterns.
Four-Voice Polyphony & Sequencer
The original SH-101 was strictly monophonic. The SH-01A adds three more voices and four distinct play modes: Mono recreates the classic single-voice SH-101 experience, Unison stacks all four voices for massive bass and lead sounds, Poly enables four-note chords and pads, and Chord mode layers four notes at fixed intervals that transpose together in semitone steps.
The legendary 100-step sequencer is fully recreated, now with 64 storable pattern memories instead of the original's single sequence. An arpeggiator with three playback modes (Up, Down, Up/Down) and a three-way transpose switch round out the performance features. CV/Gate outputs (1V/oct) let you use the SH-01A as a MIDI-to-CV converter to control modular and vintage analog gear.
