Roland JD-Xi Analog/Digital Crossover Synthesizer

The Roland JD-Xi is a compact 37-mini-key synthesizer that fuses a true analog synth engine with Roland's SuperNATURAL digital sounds, a four-track pattern sequencer, and a built-in vocoder with included gooseneck microphone. Designed for hands-on sound design and self-contained music creation, the JD-Xi delivers big sounds and deep functionality in a portable, affordable package.

Analog/Digital Hybrid Engine

The JD-Xi is a genuine hybrid instrument. Its monophonic analog synth section uses real analog circuits for the oscillator, sub-oscillator, and filter stages, generating saw, triangle, and square waveforms with pulse-width modulation and an independent sub oscillator for powerful bass and lead tones. Two polyphonic digital synth sections powered by SuperNATURAL technology provide up to 128 voices of polyphony for pads, strings, electric pianos, and more. A dedicated drum section with PCM drum kits rounds out the four-part architecture.

The four-track pattern sequencer lets you layer digital synth, analog synth, and drum parts with realtime recording, step recording, and TR-REC input inspired by Roland's classic TR-series drum machines. An included gooseneck microphone feeds the built-in Vocoder, AutoPitch, and Auto Note functions for vocal processing and robotic voice effects. Four simultaneous effects (Distortion/Fuzz/Compressor/Bit Crusher, Flanger/Phaser/Ring Mod/Slicer, Delay, and Reverb) shape the sound further.

USB audio/MIDI connectivity and 5-pin DIN MIDI In/Out provide integration with DAWs and external gear. A 1/4" line/guitar input lets you process external audio through the JD-Xi's effects.
