Description
The Roland FANTOM-08 is an 88-key synthesizer workstation featuring a premium PHA-4 Standard weighted hammer-action keyboard with escapement and ivory feel. Built on the same ZEN-Core and SuperNATURAL sound engines as the rest of the FANTOM-0 series, it delivers over 3,500 sounds and 90+ drum kits through a 5.5" color touchscreen interface with comprehensive sequencing and studio-grade DAW integration.
PHA-4 Weighted Keyboard
The FANTOM-08 stands apart in the FANTOM-0 lineup with its 88-note PHA-4 Standard keybed. This weighted hammer-action keyboard features escapement for realistic piano touch and an ivory-feel surface for confident playing, making it ideal for pianists who need authentic keyboard response alongside deep synthesis capabilities. Despite the full-size weighted keybed, the FANTOM-08 weighs 32 lbs 11 oz, significantly lighter than most professional 88-note weighted-action keyboards.
Under the hood, ZEN-Core synthesis provides up to 256-voice polyphony with PCM and virtual analog sound generation. SuperNATURAL technology adds expressive acoustic and electric piano sounds that respond naturally to playing dynamics, and the VTW engine delivers tonewheel organ tones. A clip-based 16-track sequencer with realtime, step, and TR-REC recording lets you build complete arrangements, while 16 pads across 4 banks handle sample triggering.
The built-in 4x32 USB audio interface (up to 24-bit/96 kHz) integrates natively with Logic Pro, MainStage, and Ableton Live. Expandable via Roland Cloud with EXZ, EXSN, and EXM Series content, the FANTOM-08 serves as a complete production platform for pianists, producers, and performing musicians.
