Description
The PreSonus Studio Channel is a single-channel strip combining tube preamplification, a VCA-based compressor, and three-band parametric EQ for studio recording and live performance. A Tube Drive control lets you dial in anything from clean amplification to warm saturation, while the fully variable compressor and flexible EQ shape your signal before it hits the DAW or PA.
Tube Preamp
The XMAX-based preamp with 12AX7 tube stage delivers a huge variety of timbres. A Tube Drive control blends solid-state clarity with tube warmth. The preamp handles vocals, acoustic piano, bass guitar, acoustic guitars, and snare with ease.
Dynamics and EQ
The VCA compressor features fully variable Attack, Release, Ratio, Threshold, and makeup Gain controls plus Auto Attack/Release and Soft/Hard Knee switches. The three-band parametric EQ provides precise tonal shaping with an independent bypass switch.
