PreSonus CDL12P 12" Constant Directivity Loudspeaker

The PreSonus CDL12P is a 12" constant-directivity loudspeaker that combines point source and line array technology into a unique patent-pending design. A continuous-directivity constant curve array with eight 2" cone drivers disperses sound 120 degrees horizontally, while a 12" long-throw LF transducer with a 2.5" voice coil handles the lows. An integrated 500W x 500W Class D amplifier delivers high SPLs with fast transient response.

Constant Directivity Design

Based on the Constant-Directivity Two-Way Loudspeaker System design presented at the 143rd AES Convention, the CDL12P radiates a highly focused pattern with consistent SPL throughout the frequency range, both on- and off-axis. Both the highs and lows emanate from the same acoustic axis, arriving at listeners' ears at the same time with no smearing at crossover frequencies. The 15-degree vertical directivity can be extended from 30 degrees up to 90 degrees by arraying additional CDL12P units.

Rigging and Mounting

Integrated pin-loaded rigging hardware supports vertical arrays of up to six CDL12P enclosures. A dual-angle pole mount accommodates one or two enclosures on a tripod or subwoofer pole.
