The Pioneer DJ CDJ-900NXS is a single-deck professional media player that added full-color LCD, Beat Divide, four-deck Beat Sync, and Slip Mode to the CDJ-900 platform. It plays from CD, USB flash storage, and connected smartphones over Wi-Fi, with Wolfson 24-bit/48 kHz conversion driving a clean output that punches above its size class. While succeeded by the CDJ-3000 in the flagship lineup, the CDJ-900NXS remains a reliable fixture in clubs, fixed installs, and prosumer setups.
Pro DJ Link & Networking
Up to four CDJ-900NXS or CDJ-2000NXS players can be daisy-chained over LAN via Pro DJ Link, sharing a single USB drive or rekordbox laptop library. Beat Sync auto-matches BPM and beat position between linked players from rekordbox-analyzed tracks. Quantize holds loops and hot cues to the beat grid so triggers stay tight under pressure.
Performance Tools
- Slip Mode: Keeps a track playing silently in the background while you scratch, reverse, or loop on the surface. Release the action and playback returns to where it would have been.
- Beat Divide: Slices the playing track into rhythmic chops triggered from dedicated buttons. Combine with Slip Mode for tight return-to-track edits (Slip Loop).
- Master Tempo: Adjust tempo without affecting pitch.
- Active Loop: Set automatic loops at the end of tracks via rekordbox so you never get caught off-guard.
Display & Sound Card
The full-color LCD shows Wave Display, Wave Zoom, and editable beatgrids. The unit doubles as a MIDI-assignable USB controller and includes a built-in sound card, so it can drive Serato DJ Pro, Traktor Pro 3, and other software directly via USB-HID without an additional interface.
