Pianoteq Steinway Model D

The Steinway Model D has been heard and seen in countless recordings and concert performances, cherished by prominent pianists for its iconic Steinway sound and superb musical expression.

This authorized instrument pack offers two variants: Hamburg and New York. The New York Steinway D is the first produced of Steinway’s flagship Model D Spirio|r, featured by some of today’s most famous pianists. The physical model is based on recordings made at the renowned New York Steinway Hall.

Hamburg and New York Steinway D pianos share strong family traits but exhibit subtle differences in personality due to variations in hammer construction, voicing techniques, and proprietary soundboard fabrication methods. Both use premium Sitka spruce soundboards. During development for Pianoteq, every note was meticulously adjusted, producing instruments with stunningly vivid and expressive tones suitable for the most demanding musicians.

With Pianoteq 9, both Steinway D models benefit from the new audio engine, delivering rich, evolving resonance, enhanced spatial depth, and a lifelike, organic tone. Refreshed Binaural presets offer immersive headphone playback, while expressive “Sombre” presets provide silken tones ideal for cinematic or highly nuanced performance.
