Description
The Korg Wavestate MkII is a 37-key digital synthesizer built around Wave Sequencing 2.0, a sound architecture that creates continuously evolving, organic textures by independently sequencing waveforms, timing, pitch, and effects across multiple lanes. With 96 stereo voices of polyphony (doubled from the original Wavestate), a 2 GB sample library, and 4 GB of user sample storage, it covers territory from lush evolving pads to aggressive bass and complex rhythmic sequences.
Wave Sequencing 2.0
Each performance can layer up to four programs, each with its own wave sequence, arpeggiator, and effects. Wave sequences let you independently control the timing, sample, pitch, shape, and gate of each step. Steps can loop, randomize, or follow probability-based branching for sounds that never repeat the same way twice.
Sound Library
Ships with 261 performances, 799 programs, and 1,042 wave sequences. Storage supports tens of thousands of additional user performances. 4 GB of internal memory accepts user samples, and the editor/librarian software manages sound libraries from a computer.
Effects & Controllers
Up to 14 effects run simultaneously across the four layers, including chorus, flanger, delay, reverb, and a performance EQ. A vector joystick morphs between layers in real time. Eight programmable mod knobs provide instant access to key parameters per program.
