Description
The Korg RK-100S 2 is a shoulder-strap synthesizer that puts expressive performance front and center. With 37 slim keys, built-in sounds, a MIDI controller mode, a ribbon controller, and a modulation bar, the RK-100S 2 gives keyboardists the same stage freedom that guitarists enjoy. Built-in speakers and battery operation make it fully self-contained, while MIDI and USB connectivity let it drive external sound modules and software instruments.
Sound Engine and Performance
The internal sound engine provides a selection of synth leads, pads, basses, and keyboard sounds optimized for live performance. The ribbon controller on the instrument's neck enables pitch bends, filter sweeps, and modulation gestures with a fluid, guitar-like feel. A modulation bar near the left hand provides additional real-time expression control. These performance tools transform the keytar from a novelty into a genuinely expressive instrument.
MIDI Controller Mode
Switching to MIDI controller mode turns the RK-100S 2 into a wireless-ready MIDI keyboard. The ribbon controller and modulation bar transmit MIDI CC data, giving you expressive control over any external synth, module, or software instrument. The 37 slim keys transmit velocity for dynamic playing.
Portability
Built-in speakers let you practice and perform without an amplifier. Battery power frees you from cables during stage performances. The lightweight body with an included shoulder strap is designed for extended standing performances.
