Korg MicroKORG Crystal Synthesizer/Vocoder

The Korg MicroKORG Crystal is a limited-edition version of the legendary MicroKORG, housed in a striking transparent body that reveals the circuitry inside. Beneath the clear shell is the same DSP-based analog modeling engine that made the original MicroKORG one of the best-selling synthesizers of all time. With 37 mini keys, a built-in vocoder with included microphone, and 128 programs, the Crystal edition delivers the full MicroKORG experience in a collectible form factor.

Analog Modeling Engine

The virtual analog synthesis engine provides two oscillators per voice with eight voice polyphony. Oscillator types include sawtooth, square, triangle, sine, formant, noise, and PCM/DWGS waveforms. A resonant multimode filter with low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject modes shapes the timbre, while two envelope generators and two LFOs provide modulation. The architecture follows the classic subtractive synthesis signal flow, making it intuitive for both beginners and experienced synthesists.

Vocoder

An 8-band vocoder analyzes audio from the included gooseneck microphone (or external source via the audio input) and maps it onto the synthesizer's output. Adjustable formant shift and filter cutoff let you shape the vocoder's character from robotic to organic. Dedicated vocoder programs are included in the factory preset bank.
