Description
The IsoAcoustics GAIA-TITAN Rhea is a set of four machined stainless steel isolation feet that replace the spikes or feet on premium high fidelity floor standing speakers and subwoofers weighing up to 420 lbs (190 kg). Each foot threads into the base of the cabinet, decoupling the speaker from the floor so structure borne noise is not driven into the room.
Isolation Design
On many isolation feet the metal housing rests directly on the floor, leaving a rigid path for vibration to travel regardless of what sits inside. On the GAIA only the lower isolator contacts the supporting surface, so all energy is routed through the internal isolator. The isolator resists lateral movement and oscillation to keep the speaker aligned with the listening position, and attenuates internal reflections coming back up the cabinet.
Installation
- Thread the isolator into the base of the speaker in place of the existing spike or foot, using the adapter that matches your speaker's thread.
- Position each isolator with the logo facing the listening position, or rotated 180 degrees, to align it with the speaker's motive forces.
- Lift the speaker into place rather than sliding it: the lower isolators are designed to adhere to the supporting surface.
- On thick carpet or carpet with an underpad, add GAIA-TITAN Rhea Carpet Discs (sold separately) so the GAIA-TITAN Rhea can connect to the solid floor below.
