Description
The IsoAcoustics GAIA-TITAN Cronos Neo is a set of four black isolation feet for ultra-heavy loudspeakers and reference subwoofers weighing up to 620 lbs (281 kg). It replaces the original GAIA-TITAN Cronos at the same weight rating, with a redesigned internal isolator, a flush-fit housing with no lock nut, and height adjustment built into each foot.
Isolation Design
Only the lower isolator touches the floor, so the speaker's energy passes through the internal isolator instead of the metal housing. That removes the rigid path for vibration into the floor and limits reflections back into the cabinet. The isolator's shape, thickness and durometer were refined for high-mass loudspeakers. In testing at the National Research Council of Canada, IsoAcoustics isolation reduced cabinet vibration compared with spikes while frequency response stayed consistent from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Installation
- Thread the adapter that matches your speaker into the base in place of the existing spike or foot.
- Screw each isolator onto the adapter until the O-ring compresses against the speaker, with the IsoAcoustics logo facing the front. Add the included compression washer where the O-ring has little contact with the base or outrigger.
- Set the included floor sliders under the isolators (with the adhesive felt pads on hard floors, bare on carpet), slide the speaker into place, then remove them.
- Rotate the lower ring on each isolator to level the speaker on an uneven floor.
- Install with at least two people. The heaviest speakers may need three.
