Description
The IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub XL is the large format version of the Aperta Sub, built for subwoofers weighing up to 160 lbs (72.6 kg). It is wider and deeper than the standard model but no taller, and it uses the space between a cabinet's four corner feet to make contact so the existing feet are left undisturbed.
What Isolating a Subwoofer Changes
A large subwoofer puts more energy into the floor than any other component in a system, exciting the structure and carrying into neighbouring rooms. The Aperta Sub XL prevents that transfer and also stops the vibration reflecting off the floor and being conducted back up into the cabinet, which is the mechanism behind muddy, smeared bass. The internal isolators are directional, shaped to keep the driver's energy on axis and to resist lateral deflection, so the platform is installed with the logo facing forward.
