Description
The Golden Age Project R2 MKII is a passive ribbon microphone with a shorter, narrower ribbon than the R1 series: 42 x 5 mm aluminum foil at 2.5 microns. That geometry rolls off the top earlier for a darker, more atmospheric tone that flatters horns, clean and distorted electric guitar, and other sources that can sound harsh on brighter mics. Figure-8 pickup, fast transients, and 137 dB max SPL suit guitar amps, brass, drum overheads, and acoustic guitar. The ribbon and magnet assembly is internally shock-mounted, and a metal shock mount is included.
