Description
The Golden Age Project PRE-73 PREMIER is a one-channel vintage-style mic, line, and instrument preamplifier with UK-made Carnhill transformers, polystyrene and tantalum capacitors, and soldered internal wiring (except the gain switch). The discrete path tracks classic 1073 preamp character: warm, punchy, and musical, with up to 80 dB of mic gain for quiet sources and ribbons.
Premier Build and Controls
A stepped gain switch, output level control, and -14 dB output pad let you drive the stages for saturation, then trim the send. High-pass at about 80 or 200 Hz, Air EQ at 30 kHz, switchable 1200/300 ohm mic impedance, phantom, polarity, Hi-Z DI, insert jack, and selectable 600 ohm output termination round out the front and rear. Mount one or two units in the UNITE PREMIER rack kit, or combine with Project-line units in other UNITE kits.
