Description
The Golden Age Premier GA-8000 is a large-diaphragm tube condenser built for a modern, high-resolution character. A NOS CIFTE 6AU6 tube runs at elevated anode voltage with a semiconductor active cooling system and rear aluminum heat sink to keep noise and thermal drift in check. Electronically switchable cardioid and omni patterns suit vocals, voiceover, and film post work.
Cooling, Board, and Power Supply
The tube sits in an aluminum housing with a semiconductor cooling chip that dumps heat to the external sink. A ROGERS ceramic gold-plated circuit board, Siemens EPCOS coupling capacitors, and oxygen-free copper wiring support stable HF/LF performance. The external PSU uses solid-state rectifiers and FET high-voltage stabilization (no rectifier tube to replace). Finish is black; shock mount is a Rycote USM-VB.
