Description
The Golden Age Project D2 MKII is a broadcast-style dynamic cardioid microphone with a full-bodied response, strong transients, and low off-axis coloration. A mild upper-mid lift and proximity bass boost (about 75-300 Hz at short distance) suit speech, vocals, kick drum, and electric bass in studio, stage, and broadcast setups. Do not engage 48 V phantom with this mic.
Tone Switches
Three switches shape the response: a gentler bass roll-off (about -3 dB at 120 Hz / -5 dB at 50 Hz), a steeper bass roll-off (about -3 dB at 210 Hz / -10 dB at 100 Hz), and a presence cut centered around 5 kHz (about -4 dB). An internal windscreen is built in; a stand adaptor with 5/8" thread adaptor is included.
