Description
The Genelec 8361A is the flagship of The Ones family — a large-format 3-way SAM coaxial point-source monitor delivering main-monitor output levels with the imaging precision of a point source. Its Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC) driver places a 130 mm midrange and 25 mm tweeter on the same axis, while dual large-format oval bass drivers provide thunderous bass extension to 30 Hz with 118 dB of output. Designed for large control rooms, scoring stages, and critical listening environments where uncompromising accuracy at high SPL is required.
Acoustic Design
- Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC): Coaxially mounted 130 mm midrange and 25 mm tweeter for true point-source imaging at any distance
- Dual oval bass drivers: Two 137 x 263 mm elliptical woofers in a large MDE enclosure deliver 30 Hz extension with high output
- Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW): Precisely shaped waveguide controls directivity for accurate imaging in large rooms
- Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE): Die-cast aluminium cabinet with flowing geometry eliminates edge diffraction
- Iso-Pod stand: Decouples the monitor and allows tilt/orientation adjustment
SAM (Smart Active Monitoring)
Connected via GLM network (dual RJ45), the 8361A is individually calibrated using GLM software. Room response correction, level alignment, distance delay, and subwoofer integration are managed automatically with up to 16 room correction filters per monitor.
