Description
The Genelec 8030C is a bi-amplified active studio monitor with a 5" bass driver and 3/4" metal dome tweeter. Sitting in the sweet spot between compact size and full-range performance, the 8030C delivers precise imaging and detailed reproduction with more SPL and bass extension than its smaller siblings. Its die-cast aluminium MDE enclosure and rear-panel room compensation make it a consistent best-seller for project studios, post-production suites, and broadcast facilities.
Acoustic Design
- Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE): Rounded aluminium enclosure eliminates parallel surfaces that cause cabinet-induced colouration
- Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW): Controls speaker directivity across the full frequency range for accurate imaging on and off axis
- Reflex port design: Flow-optimized rear port with large cross-sectional area for clean, extended bass without port noise at high levels
- Iso-Pod stand: Isolates the monitor from the surface and allows vertical or horizontal orientation with tilt adjustment
- Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS): Automatic standby mode when no audio signal is detected
Room Compensation
Rear-panel DIP switches provide Treble Tilt, Bass Tilt (0 to -6 dB in 2 dB steps), Bass Roll-Off (-4 dB at 55 Hz), and Desktop EQ compensation. These controls allow the 8030C to be optimized for placement near walls, in corners, or on desk surfaces where boundary effects would otherwise colour the response.
