Description
The Focusrite Red 16Line is a 64-input, 64-output audio interface with dual Thunderbolt 3 and Pro Tools | HD connectivity, plus 32x32 Dante audio networking. It provides 16 channels of analogue line-level I/O, two Red Evolution mic preamps, and mastering-grade conversion in a 1U rackmount chassis.
Conversion and Preamps
Conversion quality reaches up to 118dB dynamic range A-D and 121dB D-A (A-weighted) at 24-bit/192kHz. The two Red Evolution mic preamps offer up to 63dB of digitally controlled gain with per-channel phantom power, high-pass filter, phase reverse, stereo linking, and Air mode for the classic ISA transformer character.
Multi-Host Workflow
Red 16Line lets you switch between Pro Tools | HD and Thunderbolt host modes from the front panel or RedNet Control software, eliminating the need to swap option cards. With both DigiLink and Thunderbolt connections active alongside Dante, you can run Pro Tools and a second DAW simultaneously while sharing I/O across a Dante network.
