Description
The Focusrite ISA One is a single-channel transformer-based mic preamp built on the circuit topology of the original ISA 110 module from the Focusrite Studio Console, featuring the Lundahl LL1538 input transformer originally specified by Rupert Neve.
Mic Preamp
The mic preamp delivers up to 80dB of gain (60dB in 10dB steps, plus 20dB of variable trim) with an EIN below -123dBu and a frequency response extending from 10Hz to 125kHz. Four-position input impedance switching (600Ω, 1.4kΩ ISA 110, 2.4kΩ, 6.8kΩ) lets you match any microphone for optimal performance, or deliberately mismatch for creative tonal shaping. A switchable 75Hz high-pass filter (18dB/octave) controls low-end rumble.
DI Channel and Metering
A fully independent DI channel with its own gain control, switchable impedance (470kΩ or 2.4MΩ), and dedicated rear-panel XLR output runs alongside the mic preamp. The DI includes an amp output for re-amping workflows. A classic VU meter and 8-segment LED metering provide clear level monitoring. The rear panel accepts the optional ISA ADN2 card for 24-bit/192kHz digital output with Dante, AES3, ADAT, and S/PDIF connectivity.
