The EAW MK8126iPL-WP is a high-performance, 300W passive 2-way loudspeaker specifically engineered for installation in both residential and commercial applications where sound clarity, durability, and versatility are essential. This loudspeaker offers an IP56 rating, making it ideal for use in challenging environments with exposure to dust and moisture, ensuring reliable performance in outdoor venues, houses of worship, hotel ballrooms, auditoriums, and more. Despite its compact size, the MK8126iPL-WP outperforms many traditional compact two-way loudspeakers, offering superior audio coverage and clarity.
The system is equipped with an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch exit, 1.4-inch voice coil compression driver, mounted on a constant directivity (CD) horn. The horn is significantly larger than traditional compact two-way horns, enabling extended pattern control into the midrange frequencies. This expanded control helps ensure that the horn's pattern overlaps with the woofer's pattern in the critical crossover area, eliminating the beamwidth mismatch that often leads to off-axis voids in the crossover region of other loudspeakers. The integration of the subsystems is optimized by the advanced beamwidth-matching crossover point selection, ensuring smooth and consistent sound distribution across the entire frequency range.
The MK8126iPL-WP's internal passive crossover/filter network is designed to power the system through a single amplifier channel, while smoothing the power response and enhancing audio performance. The system's crossover point selection, which is beamwidth-optimized, eliminates the typical off-axis voids, providing a more uniform sound field and improved audio clarity throughout the entire coverage area. The user-rotatable horn allows for flexible mounting, enabling the enclosure to be oriented either vertically or horizontally to suit different installation requirements and acoustic preferences.
In terms of performance, the MK8126iPL-WP delivers impressive sound pressure levels. It reaches a maximum SPL of 130 dB with a 12 dB crest factor and 124 dB with a 6 dB crest factor.
