Description
The Duesenberg D-Tron is a transparent, low-output humbucker with defined, sparkling trebles. It delivers the bass tone associated with players like Chet Atkins and Brian Setzer: low impedance coils fitted into a humbucker housing, with a thick Alnico magnet providing the output and the sparkle. Duesenberg fits three of them to the Starplayer TV Custom. This is the bridge version with a gold cover.
Features
- Low impedance coils in a standard humbucker housing
- Thick Alnico magnet for output and clear treble
- 4 conductor wire
- Distance between polepieces 50 mm (E6 to e1)
- Pickup frame not included
In Use
At 4.8 kOhm the D-Tron bridge pickup sits far below a typical humbucker in output, which is where the clean, open character comes from. It suits rockabilly, country and jazz players who want humbucker quiet with a tone closer to a vintage single coil, and it pairs with the D-Tron neck pickup for a matched set.
