Description
The Blackstar LT Metal is a compact high-gain distortion pedal for modern metal, from tight rhythm parts to extreme lead tones. The patented ISF control moves the voicing between American and British high-gain characters, and the patent-applied-for clipping circuit is voiced to match the tone and response of Blackstar's valve pedals. It runs on a 9V battery or a 9V DC adapter and fits easily on a pedalboard.
Controls
Gain sets the amount of distortion, up to an extreme metal lead tone at full rotation. Level sets the output, higher at lower gain settings and lower as the gain goes up, so the pedal sits at the right volume against your bypassed sound. Tone adjusts the treble from warm and dark to bright and cutting.
Shaping with ISF
ISF works together with the Tone control. Fully counterclockwise gives an American character with a tight bottom end and a more aggressive midrange, and fully clockwise gives a woodier, less aggressive British character. Start with ISF at halfway, set Tone to taste, then move ISF until the voicing suits your amp.
