Description
The Blackstar LT Dist is a compact distortion pedal for guitarists who want one stompbox to cover clean boost, crunch and full lead distortion. Its patent-applied-for clipping circuit is voiced to match the tone and response of Blackstar's valve pedals, and the patented ISF control moves the tone between an American and a British character. It runs on a 9V battery or a 9V DC adapter and fits easily on a pedalboard.
From Boost to Lead
With the Gain knob turned low, the LT Dist works as a clean boost, and the Level control can push an amp that is already breaking up into heavier drive. Turning Gain up moves through crunch tones to a fully distorted lead sound at the top of its range. Set Level higher at low gain and lower at high gain to keep the pedal balanced against your bypassed signal.
Tone and ISF
The Tone knob sets the treble, from warm and dark to bright and cutting. ISF works with it to set the tone signature. Fully counterclockwise gives an American character with a tight low end and a more aggressive midrange, and fully clockwise gives a woodier, smoother British character. Blackstar suggests starting with ISF at halfway, setting Tone to taste, then moving ISF either way until the sound fits.
