Description
The Blackstar JJN 212 VOC is the vertical 2x12 extension cabinet built to pair with the JJN 50 head, the second Jared James Nichols signature rig from Blackstar. Jared picked the speaker blend himself after testing combinations at Blackstar's headquarters in Northampton: a Celestion G12T-75 in the top position and a lightweight Celestion Zephyr below it. The cabinet handles 145 W, has 4 ohm and 16 ohm inputs and weighs 15.67 kg.
Speakers and Cabinet
The G12T-75 brings tight lows and crisp highs, and the Zephyr adds a smooth midrange. Blackstar developed the Zephyr with Celestion to sound like a Vintage 30 at a fraction of the weight, using a ferrite magnet. The cabinet is built from Candlenut plywood for strength and low weight, and its back converts between closed and open. It is covered in Jared's British Racing Green with a biscuit grille cloth to match the head.
Pairing with the JJN 50
The JJN 50 has one 1 x 16 ohm speaker output for a single 16 ohm cabinet. Connect it to this cab's 16 ohm input. The 4 ohm input is for heads with a 4 ohm output.
