Blackstar ID:X Floor Three Multi-Effects Processor

The Blackstar ID:X Floor Three is the largest ID:X Floor modeler, built for players who want stompbox-style control on stage. Eight footswitches cover three channels per bank, direct on and off for each effect block and tap tempo, and a built-in expression pedal handles volume, wah or a custom parameter. It carries the full ID:X Floor sound engine for electric, bass and acoustic guitar, and adds an effects loop and MIDI Thru to the connections of the smaller models.

Amp Models

Six guitar voices are Blackstar's own, drawn from the St. James, Artisan, HT Club and Series One amps. The other six are Ampton models, component-level recreations of a 1969 Twin Reverb, a pre-production Vox AC30, a late-1960s Marshall Super Lead, a Marshall JCM800 2203, the red channel of a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and a 1992 Peavey 5150. A Response switch gives the guitar voices the feel of EL84, EL34 or 6L6 power tubes, and the bass voices get Linear, 6550 and 6L6 settings. The patented ISF control sweeps the EQ between a tight American character and a looser British one.

Footswitches and Pedal

CH1, CH2 and CH3 select the three patches in a bank, and pressing two neighboring switches together moves down or up a bank. The Pre FX, Modulation, Delay and Reverb switches turn each block on and off, and holding Modulation, Delay or Reverb ramps up that effect until you let go. The expression pedal covers volume, Classic or Modern wah, or any continuous amp or effect parameter. The effects loop sits after the Pre FX block and before the power amp stage, so external pedals can go into the middle of the chain.

Connections

Stereo XLR outputs go straight to a mixer or stage box, and the 1/4-inch stereo output feeds headphones or full-range speakers. CabRig handles the speaker and mic simulation on those outputs, with six Blackstar cabinets, three mic types and Blackstar's In The Room algorithm. The To Amp output skips CabRig for use with an external power amp and a guitar cabinet. Over USB-C the unit works as an audio interface, sending CabRig left and right, the dry guitar and the preamp signal to your computer, and the free Architect software handles deeper editing and patch sharing. MIDI In takes program and control change messages for patch changes and effect switching, and MIDI Thru passes them on to other gear.
