Description
The Blackstar FLY 3 Bass Stereo Pack pairs the FLY 3 Bass mini amp with the matching FLY 103 Bass extension cabinet and a power supply, for 6 watts of stereo sound from a bass guitar or a music player. The FLY 3 Bass has two channels, a variable mid-cut EQ, a built-in compressor and a Sub control, which covers clean and driven bass tones at practice volume. The pair also works as portable or computer speakers.
Bass Tone Controls
Gain sets the drive, and the OD switch moves from the Clean channel to the Overdrive channel. The EQ control runs from a fairly flat response with a slight mid boost to a shaped sound with a cut around 400 Hz, and it adds gain as it turns so the level stays about the same. COMP raises the compression ratio from 1:1, which is off, to smooth out peaks, and SUB blends in a harmonic generator for more low-end weight.
Connections and Power
The MP3/Line In jack takes a phone, tablet or laptop for playing along with tracks. The speaker-emulated output feeds headphones, a recorder or a mixer and mutes the speaker while in use. The FLY 103 Bass connects to the amp with its own built-in cable, and the amp runs on the included power supply or six AA batteries.
