Description
The Blackstar FLY 3 is a 3-watt mini guitar amp small enough for a desk or a gig bag, and it runs on six AA batteries or an AC power supply. Two channels, Blackstar's patented ISF tone control and a digital tape delay cover clean, crunch and distorted lead sounds through a 3-inch speaker. It suits practice at home, on the road or anywhere without an outlet.
Tone Controls
The Clean channel moves from clean into break-up and crunch as the Gain control rises, and the Overdrive channel runs from the edge of break-up to a full distorted lead tone. The ISF control sets the EQ character: fully counterclockwise gives an American voicing with a tight low end and aggressive mids, and fully clockwise gives a British voicing that is woodier and less aggressive. Delay Level and Delay Time shape the tape-style echo.
Practice, Play Along and Record
The MP3/Line In jack takes a phone, tablet or laptop so you can play along with backing tracks, and the amp doubles as a small speaker for music. The speaker-emulated output drives headphones for silent practice or feeds a recorder or mixer, and plugging into it mutes the internal speaker. The FLY 103 extension cabinet, sold separately, turns the FLY 3 into a 6-watt stereo setup.
