Description
The Blackstar Debut 15E is a 15-watt practice combo for guitarists who want a small amp with proper tone controls at home. Clean and Overdrive channels, Blackstar's patented ISF control and a tape-style echo run through two 3-inch speakers, and a speaker-emulated headphone output lets you play silently or record. This version has a cream covering with an oxblood grille cloth.
Tone Shaping
On the Clean channel the Gain knob moves from a clean sound into breakup and a full crunch at the top of its range. Press the OD switch and the same knob runs from the edge of breakup through crunch to a distorted lead sound. The Tone knob balances bass against treble, and the ISF knob sets the voicing: fully counterclockwise gives an American character with a tight low end and a more aggressive midrange, fully clockwise a looser British voice.
Practice and Recording
The speaker-emulated output doubles as the headphone jack and switches off the internal speakers when a cable is connected, so the same jack serves silent practice and direct recording into a recorder or mixer. The stereo MP3/Line In plays backing tracks or music through the amp so you can play along.
