Description
The Austrian Audio OC-B6 is a large-diaphragm condenser built specifically for kick drum. The CKR6-B capsule (evolved from Austrian Audio ceramic technology with increased diaphragm-to-electrode spacing) is engineered for SPLs up to 170 dB, so you get condenser detail and transient speed where most kick mics stay dynamic-only.
Placement Without a Clip
A 220° swivel head and integrated stand thread cover classic kick positions: inside the shell, at the port, or outside the drum. There is no separate clip to lose. Discrete electronics keep headroom high, and a fixed ~25 Hz subsonic filter removes infrasonic energy that eats converter headroom without changing the audible kick tone.
Sound Character
The OC-B6 is voiced without heavy pre-EQ hype. Capture deep vintage boom or modern attack and shape it at the console. It is equally at home in the studio and on tour as the kick mic in the DMK1 kit.
