Description
The Audio-Technica AT-LPA2 is a fully manual belt-drive turntable built from a 30 mm transparent acrylic chassis and a 20 mm acrylic platter, with the motor and power in a separate control unit. It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and ships with an AT-OC9XEN moving-coil cartridge. There is no built-in phono preamp.
Drive and Tonearm
An optical sensor under the spindle monitors platter speed. The static-balanced straight carbon tonearm (effective length 223.6 mm / 8.8") uses string-and-weight anti-skate. The AT-OC9XEN is a moving-coil cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil nude elliptical stylus and 0.35 mV output; it needs an MC phono stage (load 100 ohms or greater when a head amplifier is used).
