Description
The Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II 32x32 is a 2U rackmount multichannel audio interface built on the Symphony I/O Mk II chassis, configured here with two 16x16 modules, plus Waves SoundGrid network connectivity. As delivered it provides 32 analog inputs and 32 analog outputs, running through Apogee's flagship conversion.
Installed I/O Modules
- 32x32: two 16x16 modules filling both bays, giving 32 balanced line inputs and 32 balanced line outputs on DB25
Connectivity
A Waves SoundGrid card connects the interface to a SoundGrid network over Ethernet, for use with SoundGrid servers and SoundGrid-based live and studio systems. Audio is distributed on the network rather than tied to a single host computer.
Chassis and Control
The Symphony I/O Mk II chassis holds Apogee's flagship conversion, a front-panel color touchscreen for input selection, gain, metering, and monitor control at the rack, and two module bays for up to 32 channels. Because the I/O is modular, the same chassis can be re-specified later as the room's channel count changes. Apogee's Symphony Control software mirrors the hardware controls on the computer, and the optional Apogee Control hardware remote adds a physical level knob and assignable buttons.
