Description
The Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II 2x6 SE + 2x6 SE is a 2U rackmount multichannel audio interface built on the Symphony I/O Mk II chassis, configured here with two 2x6 SE modules, plus both Thunderbolt and Pro Tools HD connectivity. As delivered it provides 4 analog inputs and 12 analog outputs, running through Apogee's flagship conversion.
Installed I/O Modules
- 2x6 SE: 2 analog inputs and 6 analog outputs with Special Edition conversion, plus AES and optical digital I/O
- A second identical 2x6 SE module fills the other bay, doubling those counts
Connectivity
Thunderbolt and Pro Tools HD cards are both installed, so one unit serves a Mac over Thunderbolt and a Pro Tools HDX or HD Native rig over DigiLink. Rooms that track to Pro Tools HD and mix in a native DAW can switch hosts without re-cabling the analog I/O.
Chassis and Control
The Symphony I/O Mk II chassis holds Apogee's flagship conversion, a front-panel color touchscreen for input selection, gain, metering, and monitor control at the rack, and two module bays for up to 32 channels. Because the I/O is modular, the same chassis can be re-specified later as the room's channel count changes. Apogee's Symphony Control software mirrors the hardware controls on the computer, and the optional Apogee Control hardware remote adds a physical level knob and assignable buttons.
