Description
The Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II 16x16 SE is a 2U rackmount multichannel audio interface built on the Symphony I/O Mk II chassis, configured here with a 16x16 SE module, plus Thunderbolt connectivity for a Mac host. As delivered it provides 16 analog inputs and 16 analog outputs, running through Apogee's flagship conversion.
Installed I/O Modules
- 16x16 SE: 16 balanced line inputs and 16 balanced line outputs on DB25, using Apogee's Special Edition conversion with the ESS 9822pro A/D converter
Connectivity
Thunderbolt connects the interface to a Mac as a native audio device with low round-trip latency. Routing, input settings, and monitor control are handled in Symphony Control software or from the front-panel touchscreen.
Chassis and Control
The Symphony I/O Mk II chassis holds Apogee's flagship conversion, a front-panel color touchscreen for input selection, gain, metering, and monitor control at the rack, and two module bays for up to 32 channels. Because the I/O is modular, the same chassis can be re-specified later as the room's channel count changes. Apogee's Symphony Control software mirrors the hardware controls on the computer, and the optional Apogee Control hardware remote adds a physical level knob and assignable buttons.
