Description
The 8x8 MP is an I/O module for the Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II with 8 mic/line inputs on digitally controlled preamps, 8 line outputs, and AES, ADAT, and S/PDIF digital I/O. It is the module to specify when the room needs microphone inputs rather than line-only conversion.
Digitally Controlled Preamps
Each of the 8 inputs has a mic preamp with +48V phantom power and stepped digital gain, set from the chassis touchscreen or Symphony Control software rather than from front-panel pots. Gain settings are therefore recallable with a session, which matters on multi-microphone sources such as a drum kit.
