Description
The AlphaTheta CHORDCAT is a compact 8-track groovebox built to help producers, beatmakers, and performers sketch full ideas and arrangements quickly — chords, melodies, drums, and effects all on one device. Eight tracks across 16 patterns and a 128-step (8-bar) sequencer give you room to build a song without a screen full of menus.
Chord Cruiser mode is the centrepiece: an algorithmic chord-suggestion engine that generates up to 110,000 musically compatible chord combinations, plus 18 preset Chordsets across genres for instant inspiration. Key and scale settings with LED guides keep your patterns harmonically locked, even if music theory isn't your strong suit. A responsive touch strip lets you play notes expressively, while a low-pass filter and amp envelope (with pattern automation) shape every sound.
You get 145 sound presets and 16 drum kits to draw from, three onboard effects (Arpeggiator, Delay, Ducker) controlled via an XY pad, and a Running Direction feature that flips the playback path of any 4×4 step-sequenced pattern. The CHORDCAT runs on USB-C or six AA batteries (around five hours), and includes MIDI I/O for syncing with the rest of your studio or live rig.
