Description
The Akai Professional EWI Solo is a standalone electronic wind instrument with 200 onboard sounds, a built-in speaker, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivering over 12 hours of playing time. Its air-pressure and bite sensors respond like a traditional woodwind or brass instrument, and selectable fingering modes for flute, oboe, saxophone, and EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) let players use familiar technique without learning new fingerings.
Sound and Expression
Two hundred factory sounds span acoustic wind instruments, strings, synth pads, leads, and basses. The mouthpiece with air-pressure level sensor and bite sensor controls volume and pitch dynamics for expressive performances. Dedicated onboard controls add reverb, delay, and chorus, plus pitch tuning and dual LFOs for sound shaping. Six mobile octave rollers and two fixed touch sensors provide a 7-octave range. An adjustable pitch bend plate and glide plate add portamento and vibrato.
