Collection: Hammond

Organs and Leslie speakers with a sound that defined generations.

About Hammond

Hammond has been building organs since 1935, and their tonewheel sound remains the standard for jazz, gospel, rock, and blues. Owned by Suzuki Musical Instruments of Hamamatsu, Japan since 1991, with Hammond USA in Elmhurst, Illinois, Hammond continues the legacy of Laurens Hammond's original designs while integrating modern digital technology. The B-3 is still the reference point every other organ gets compared to. Hammond also manufactures Leslie speakers, the rotating speaker cabinets that became inseparable from the Hammond sound itself. Their current lineup spans vintage-faithful recreations, portable stage organs, and compact performance models.

B-3 MK 2 Organs

The Portable B-3 MK 2 and B-3 MK 2 are Hammond's flagship organs, built to the original B-3 layout around Hammond's digital tonewheel engine: 91 modeled tonewheels rather than samples, with the leakage, motor noise and key click that defined the sound of Jimmy Smith and Booker T. Jones. No moving tonewheels or tubes inside, so they stay in tune and weigh a fraction of a vintage console. The B-3 MK 2 comes in the full console configuration. The Portable B-3 MK 2 strips away the cabinet for easier transport while keeping the same sound engine. Both models include built-in Leslie simulation and 11-pin Leslie outputs.

Stage Organs

The XK-5, XK-7, and XK-7D are Hammond's digital stage organs, designed for players who need the Hammond sound without the weight of tonewheels. The XK-5 is the flagship, a single-manual organ with waterfall keys that pairs with an optional lower manual for a two-manual rig, and Hammond's digital tonewheel modeling. The XK-7 and XK-7D offer single-manual layouts with the same sound engine. All three models include drawbars, Leslie control, and MIDI over USB. The SK Pro series adds piano, synth, and sample playback to the organ engine, making them full-featured stage keyboards.

Portable and Compact Models

The M-Solo is Hammond's ultra-portable organ, small enough to fit in a gig bag but still equipped with nine drawbars and an expression pedal input. It weighs about 8 pounds. The XK-4 sits between the M-Solo and the XK-5, offering a 61-key waterfall keyboard and full drawbar control in a compact format. Both models are built for players who need authentic Hammond tone in tight spaces or fly dates.

Leslie Speakers

Hammond manufactures Leslie rotating speakers, the cabinets that became synonymous with the organ sound. The 122 series includes the 122XB, 122A, and 122H, all based on the original 122 design with a rotating horn and bass rotor. The 147A and 142H are single-rotor models for smaller stages. The 2101 MK II and 3500 series are solid-state Leslies with modern amplification and lighter cabinets. Every Leslie connects via 11-pin cable or quarter-inch with the appropriate interface.
