About Fender Studio
Fender Studio is a free cross-platform DAW from Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, launched in May 2025 from their Hollywood, California headquarters. Built by the team behind PreSonus Studio One Pro and sharing that DAW's engine, Fender Studio targets self-recording guitarists and bassists with one-tap recording, authentic Fender Mustang and Rumble amp models, and an unusually broad platform reach spanning iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux. The app ships with eight multitrack recording tracks out of the box, expanding to 16 once you register a Fender Connect account, which also unlocks six additional amps and effects. Models include a '65 Twin Reverb guitar amp, a Rumble 800 v3 bass amp, five FX pedals, and an integrated tuner. No in-app purchases at launch. No MIDI, virtual instruments, or third-party plugin support in version 1.
Fender Studio Software
Fender Studio is designed for guitarists who want to capture ideas fast without wrestling with complex DAW workflows. The interface prioritizes speed: tap record, dial in a Mustang or Rumble amp model, add a pedal or two, and you're tracking. The app includes editable Jam Tracks for practice and songwriting, though these cannot be used commercially. Sessions recorded in Fender Studio cannot be opened in Studio One Pro, despite the shared engine. In January 2026, Fender expanded "Fender Studio" into an umbrella brand covering Fender Studio Pro 8, the rebranded Studio One Pro DAW, along with Fender Quantum Series and AudioBox Go interfaces and the Fender Motion controller. The free app remains the entry point for guitarists and bassists looking to record without a learning curve.
