Novation FL Pad Controllers: Mini and Full-Size for FL Studio
Novation is expanding its FL Studio family beyond keyboards. The new FL Pad and FL Pad Mini are dedicated pad controllers aimed at producers who live in Image-Line's DAW and want a surface built around pads rather than keys.
Canadian street pricing is set: FL Pad Mini at $169 CAD MAP, and FL Pad at $289 CAD MAP. Both models are scheduled to go live at Blackout Audio on October 1, 2026.
The FL Pad line
Think of these as the pad-first counterparts to Novation's FLkey controllers. Where FLkey puts a keyboard in front of FL Studio's Channel Rack and Mixer, FL Pad focuses on pad performance and clip-style workflows in a dedicated controller form factor.
FL Pad Mini
FL Pad Mini is the compact model at $169 CAD. It is the pick if you want a portable pad surface for laptop sessions or a small desk, without giving up a controller that is clearly aimed at FL Studio producers.
FL Pad
FL Pad is the full-size model at $289 CAD. Choose it when the pad controller is a primary input on your desk and you want more presence than the Mini form factor.
How they fit with FLkey
If you already run an FLkey 2 Mini or a larger FLkey 2, FL Pad does not replace the keyboard. It adds a pad-focused surface beside it. Many FL Studio setups pair a keyboard for melodies and chords with a pad controller for drums and clip launching. That is the lane these models are built for.
