Electro-Voice EVOLVE 30M, 50 and 50M G2: The Column PAs Get a Second Generation (2026)
The Electro-Voice EVOLVE 30M G2 is $2,299 CAD, and the EVOLVE 50 G2 and EVOLVE 50M G2 come to $2,999 and $3,599 CAD once you put a column on the subwoofer. They are the second generation of EV's portable column PAs, made for DJs, bands, presenters and venues that need sound for a full room from gear one person can carry in and set up.
What changed in the second generation
Each G2 system keeps the EVOLVE layout: a subwoofer, a pole and a column that go together in three steps, light enough to carry and spreading sound 120° wide across the room. What changed is mostly about running a show. The new systems play up to 2 dB louder than the first generation, every setting shows on a color LCD on the subwoofer, and phantom power is now switchable 48 V for condenser mics.
Two G2 systems can now work as one. QuickSmart Link, an RJ45 connection on the subwoofer, shares audio and control between two systems, so a second one adds its inputs to the first. Bluetooth streams in true wireless stereo, and the QuickSmart app 3.0 for iOS and Android runs the mixer from your phone or tablet. A new top handle on the subwoofer makes the heaviest piece easier to lift, and its laminar flow vent is shaped to get more low end out of the cabinet.
EVOLVE 30M G2: everything in one box
The 30M G2 is a complete system: a 10-inch subwoofer with the mixer built in, a two-piece pole, the column and a carry bag for the column and pole. Electro-Voice sizes it for events of up to 150 people, which suits bar gigs, ceremonies, corporate talks and solo or duo sets.
Its mixer takes four mics or line sources on combo jacks with phantom power, a guitar or bass straight into the Hi-Z input, and stereo sources on XLR/TRS, RCA or a 3.5 mm jack. An aux output can feed a monitor, a mix output sends the whole mix on to another speaker, and a footswitch input controls the effects. Feedback suppression and music ducking are built in, with more effects combinations than the first generation had.
You can get it in black or white, both at $2,299 CAD.
EVOLVE 50 G2 and 50M G2: bigger rooms, a choice of subwoofer
These step up to a 12-inch subwoofer and a column of eight 3.5-inch drivers, and Electro-Voice rates them for events of up to 300 people. Both reach 129 dB, 4 dB more than the 30M G2. They share one column, the EVOLVE 50 G2 column array ($1,254 CAD with its pole and carry bag), which sits on either subwoofer. You choose the subwoofer by how much mixer you need.
On the EVOLVE 50 G2 subwoofer ($1,745 CAD) you get two mic/line combo inputs with phantom power plus stereo inputs on XLR/TRS, RCA and 3.5 mm. That suits a DJ, a presenter, or a band that already mixes on its own console and sends a stereo feed. The EVOLVE 50M G2 subwoofer ($2,345 CAD) carries the full mixer from the 30M G2: four mic/line channels, the Hi-Z input, an aux output, the footswitch input and feedback suppression.
A column plus a subwoofer comes to $2,999 CAD for the EVOLVE 50 G2 and $3,599 CAD for the 50M G2. Every piece comes in black or white.

Get the 30M G2 if your rooms hold 150 people or fewer and you want one box with everything in it. For bigger rooms where the mixing happens somewhere else, the 50 G2 is enough. Pick the 50M G2 if you want the full mixer at the larger size.
G2 or the first generation
First-generation EVOLVE systems are not discontinued. The EVOLVE 30M is $2,169 CAD, $130 less than the G2, and the complete EVOLVE 50 and EVOLVE 50M systems are $2,899 and $3,479 CAD, $100 and $120 less than their G2 versions. For that difference, the G2 adds up to 2 dB of output, the color LCD, switchable 48 V phantom power, QuickSmart Link and, on the 30M G2 and 50M G2, feedback suppression.
If a first-generation system already covers your gigs, the extra output alone is a small step. The G2 makes more sense if you run condenser mics, want to link two systems, or play stages with open vocal mics where feedback is a fight.
Covers, cases and poles
Each G2 subwoofer has its own padded cover: the EVOLVE30M-CVR-G2 ($139 CAD) for the 30M G2, and the EVOLVE50-CVR-G2 ($159 CAD), which fits both the 50 G2 and 50M G2 subwoofers. Electro-Voice also lists the wheeled EVOLVE30M-CASE and EVOLVE50-CASE ($359 CAD each) and the short EVOLVE50-PL pole ($159 CAD) as accessories for the G2 systems.
Orders over $199 CAD ship free across Canada, so every EVOLVE G2 system ships free.
