Description
C5BT: Classic Sound, Modern Features
The Classic Series C5BT studio monitor takes the proven performance of Fluid Audio’s C5 and adds modern functionality for today’s creative needs. Designed with over 23 years of speaker expertise, the C5BT offers exceptional sound quality with the added convenience of Bluetooth connectivity, optical input, and a subwoofer output.
No exotic materials like Beryllium or Titanium—just carefully selected, reliable components working in harmony to deliver great sound at an affordable price. The C5BT features a 5-inch low-frequency transducer and a 1-inch PEI diaphragm tweeter mounted in a specially designed waveguide, ensuring excellent off-axis response and a coherent soundstage.
With Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming, an optical input for high-quality digital sources, and a subwoofer output to enhance your low-end when needed, the C5BT redefines flexibility in the budget studio monitor category. Its TRS and RCA inputs, combined with 40 watts of total power, make it equally suited for desktop monitoring, media playback, or home studio setups.
Woofer
The woofer driver is 5"(127mm) in diameter and utilizes a low distortion magnet structure. That magnet drives a high temperature voice coil, which is mounted to a poly coated, paper pulp cone. The cone is anchored to the frame with a pliant butyl rubber surround which minimizes high frequency resonant peaks that may be transmitted from the cone. Although many claim to use "space age" materials in their cones, since the 1920's, the most popular material for woofer cones has been paper pulp. Why? Not only it's great strength-to-weight ratio, but because of its excellent damping characteristics - leaving the woofer to reproduce pure tones, not the ringing resonances.
Tweeter
Using an efficient 25mm PEI diaphragm with magnet shielding, the C5BT tweeter provides extended high-frequency response while keeping a very natural sound character. Mounted to a specially designed wave guide, not only "guides" the high frequency energy to maximize off axis coverage, but also pushes the tweeter back slightly, allowing for time alignment with the woofer.
The tweeter is able to be crossed over at a lower frequency - allowing more output across the mid-band of the device.
Bass-Reflex Rear Port
The opening on the rear plate is the bass-reflex vent port. It is designed to effectively tune the speaker cabinet to a certain frequency, and maximize the bass output of the speaker. It is flared in order to minimize air turbulence, and thereby, audible distortion.
Universal connection
With its great connectivity you can connect most of your devices uses @home or in the studio. With integrated Bluetooth wireless technology, digital optical, analog RCA and balanced TRS inputs, you can finally say goodbye to your space stealing A/V receiver.
With the option to add a subwoofer, you will have a great sound experience for movies, gaming and mixing your favorite music
Enclosure
The enclosure has a very important role in shaping the overall sonic response of the speaker. Being made of acoustically efficient MDF material, it is also reinforced by internal bracing to ensure solid bass response.
