About Sequential

Sequential is the modern incarnation of Sequential Circuits, the California company that defined polyphonic synthesis in the late 1970s. Founded by Dave Smith, the engineer behind MIDI and the Prophet-5, Sequential builds analog synthesizers that balance vintage character with modern reliability. Their instruments are known for thick, warm oscillators, expressive modulation, and hands-on control layouts that reward experimentation. The Prophet-5 and Prophet-10 reissues brought back the exact sound of the originals, while the Prophet-6 and OB-6 (designed with Tom Oberheim) pushed the analog polysynth forward with new features and rock-solid tuning stability.

Analog Synthesizers

Sequential's analog synths span desktop modules, keyboard workstations, and reissues of classics. The Prophet-5 Rev4 and Prophet-10 Rev4 are painstaking recreations of the 1978 originals, using the same Curtis chips and analog signal path. The Prophet-6 offers six voices of pure analog sound with a high-pass filter, an arpeggiator, and onboard effects. The OB-6, co-designed with Tom Oberheim, delivers the aggressive, punchy tone of the original Oberheim SEM filters. For portability, the Take 5 packs five voices into a compact form with a full-size keybed. Each synth is built in San Francisco and tuned by hand before it ships.

Accessories

Sequential's accessory line includes hardshell cases, dust covers, and expansion boards that extend the functionality of their synthesizers. The Prophet-5 and Prophet-10 cases are custom-fitted for safe transport, with reinforced corners and plush interiors. Dust covers protect against studio grime when the synth isn't in use. Expansion boards add polyphonic aftertouch and additional modulation options to select models. These accessories are designed to the same standard as the instruments themselves, practical, durable, and built to last decades.
