About Moog Music

Moog Music Inc., based in Asheville, North Carolina, has been building synthesizers since 1953. The company pioneered voltage-controlled synthesis and gave the world instruments like the Minimoog and the modular systems that defined electronic music. Their software division brings that legacy into your DAW. The Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins revive the discontinued hardware pedal line with the original analogue circuit designs, now running native on your desktop. Mariana, their dual-layer bass synthesizer released in 2023, and the iOS-first Animoog Z show Moog's approach to software: faithful to their analogue roots, but built for modern production workflows.

Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins

The Moogerfooger hardware pedals ran for 20 years before being discontinued in 2018. Moog brought them back as plugins in October 2022, starting with a bundle and later selling each effect individually. The MF-104S Analog Delay, MF-103S 12-Stage Phaser, MF-107S Freqbox, and MF-109S Saturator carry the same circuit designs as the originals. Each plugin includes eight CV inputs and eight CV outputs, so you can route modulation between instances across your session. Patch a Freqbox LFO into a Phaser sweep, or send an envelope from Mariana into a delay feedback parameter. It's modular routing inside the DAW, no hardware required.

Mariana Bass Synthesizer

Mariana is a dual-layer bass synth built for low-end weight. Released in December 2023 for macOS, Windows, and iPad, it stacks two synthesis engines per patch and includes the same virtual CV system as the Moogerfooger plugins. You can modulate Mariana's filters and oscillators from a Moogerfooger effect, or send Mariana's envelopes out to control plugin parameters elsewhere in your project. The architecture is designed for bass: thick sub layers, aggressive filtering, and modulation routing that lets you build evolving low-end textures without leaving the plugin.

iOS Instruments

Animoog Z and the Minimoog Model D app bring Moog synthesis to iPad and iPhone. Animoog Z is a polyphonic synth with a touch interface built around timbre shifting and gestural control. The Model D app is a direct port of the hardware Minimoog, optimized for touch but faithful to the original signal path. Both run standalone or as AUv3 plugins inside iOS DAWs. If you produce on iPad or want a Moog synth you can carry in a bag, these are the tools.
