About Liquid Sky

Liquid Sky is an artist collective that has operated at the intersection of electronic music, film and visual art since 1986. Founded in São Paulo by Claudia Rey and Carlos Soul Slinger, the collective took its name from the cult film and expanded to New York, then to Cologne and Berlin in the early 1990s when Ingmar Koch (Dr. Walker) joined. Now based in Santana da Serra, Portugal, Liquid Sky's European arm is headed by Dr. Walker, a central figure in 1990s German electronic music. The collective's work spans Dada- and Pop Art-influenced experimental projects, club culture, and hardware and software co-development. Their most recognized product is the Zen Delay, developed with Erica Synths and Ninja Tune.

Zen Delay Virtual

Zen Delay Virtual is a software adaptation of the 2019 Zen Delay hardware, the first effects unit produced in collaboration with an electronic music label. Conceived by Coldcut's Matt Black and Dr. Walker after a visit to Superbooth, the plugin was developed with Erica Synths, Ninja Tune and Raphaël Hoffmann of Hora Music, known for VCV Rack plugins. The software version adds an LFO modulation page, alternative delay and filter routings, a preset manager and full host automation. It ships with presets from Mijk van Dijk, Nerk of Toktok, Dr. Walker and Kiss Nuka. Available in VST, VST3, AU and standalone formats, it brings the hardware's delay and filter architecture into a more flexible, session-ready tool.
